Fundraising Dinner to participate in the Global March for Rhinos and Elephants 19 August 2016
The ISM Moshi Team is hosting a fundraising dinner on 19 August 2016 at More Than A Drop in Moshi, Tanzania. This is to raise funds to allow the Mwalimu, Maisha and Tumaini to take part in the Global March for Rhinos and Elephants 2016 on 24 September 2016 and with the message demanding elephants be declared a World Heritage Species. As Mwalimu, Maisha and Tumaini go to Dar er Salaam the ISM Moshi Team will have stop overs to engage with community on #WhyElephantsMatter to the well being of the planet.

The ISM Moshi team is attending this year Kilifair 2016, June 3-5, to raise awareness on the dangers of extinction the elephants are facing and to share on possible solutions on securing the future of elephants. ISM Moshi Team completes Maisha and Tumaini
The Moshi team is going full speed ahead in developing and building their elephants, bringing in to the family two new members, next to Mwalimu (in the centre) and then Maisha and Tumaini at their side. As the elephants are now built, it is now their role as ambassadors of their own live species to spread the message of awareness in various communities of North Tanzania.
Tanzanian politicians skip conservation and tourism in elections.As Tanzanians elections approach fast, 25th of October 2015, candidates are giving their political speeches and running their own campaigns, however there seems to be a lack of emphasis on the 28% of the country's land, the nature reserves and the idea of conservation.

Mt Meru - Arusha National Park FireTANZANIA NATIONAL PARKPRESS RELEASE
FIRE OUTBREAK IN MOUNT MERU UNDER CONTROL Fire outbreak, which started over the weekend in Mount Meru, Arusha National Park, is now under control with only few areas of fire hotspots realized on the mountain. High winds presently in the mountain and the difficult terrain of the mountain have been the main challenge in the ongoing exercise to end the fire. More that 1,000 villagers around the mountain in collaboration with the officials from Tanzania National Parks, Regional Government authorities, Fire brigade and the Police forces are up in the mountain working hard day and night to rescue the situation. TANAPA would like to emphasize to the public that this was not a volcanic eruption but rather a wildfire caused by people who illegally enter the mountain for activities contrary to the laws of the parks. TANAPA will utilize mass media to regularly update the public of the response measures.
